World’s Most Beautiful Abandoned Places

Italian product manager and web designer Francesco Mugnai recently added a collection of images to his blog touting some of the most beautiful images of abandoned spots and modern ruins that he’d ever seen. The images Mugnai has captured come from empty castles, shuttered power plants, and dilapidated churches around the world. From a sunken yacht in Antarctica to a forever-closed amusement park in Japan, these images all make up a sort of anti-phoenix; rather than rising as new from the ashes, these husks remain preserved in decomposition, forcing viewers to confront the strange beauty of ruination.

Can someone from the sciencey side of tumblr please explain this ?

This is called shape memory. It’s made from an alloy of titanium and nickel (I believe it’s called nitinol). It has the ability to “remember” the shape it’s taken.
When cold you can bend it whatever which way, but once you heat it (or in this case put it in what I presume is hot water) it will take the original shape.

MY LOVE

This man right here is my other half, he is my very own blessing. We found each other through tumblr and started the first part of out relationship long distance. Because of that our bond is so much greater than I could ever imagine. We got to grow closer mentally and spiritually before the physical and that is why our relationship works. He is there for me even though I can be annoying and crazy at times. He puts up with all my bullshit and I love him for that. I couldn't imagine life without him and I can't wait for the next chapter in our relationship.
